Doak Jacoway was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri in 1971 and a Masters degree in business from Southern Methodist University in 1975. He served as an officer in the U. S. Army from 1972-74. Since August of 1975, he has been a Financial Planning Consultant specializing in estate and investment planning. Currently, Doak is president of Jacoway Financial Corporation, a company he formed in April of 1987. Doak is married to Connie Jacoway and they have two grown children.
Doak has been active in civic affairs since coming to Denver in 1975 serving on such boards as the Denver Area Council of the Boy Scouts, the Denver Police Foundation, the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry, ARTREACH, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Denver Corporation, the Denver Arts Center Foundation, Colorado UpLIFT, the Metropolitan State College of Denver Foundation and Cherry Hills Country Club. Doak has also served on the advisory boards of U S Bank and Rose Community Foundation.
Doak was chairman of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce from 2001 2002 and the Denver Area Boy Scout Council from 2009-2011.
