Laurie Steenrod

CGA Board Member, Executive Committee

Laurie was born and raised in northern Illinois, the youngest of 4. She began golf at an early age, participating in junior golf camps and playing with her parents. Laurie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education at the University of New Mexico in 1978, where she played on the golf team her first 3 years. While teaching and coaching in Aurora Public Schools, Laurie picked up a Masters of Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Northern Colorado. Laurie retired in 2011 and continues to have her hand in education coaching high school girls golf and volunteering at her former school.

Laurie plays golf out of Saddle Rock Golf Club in Aurora where she is on the board and enjoys weekly ladies days and playing A team matches city wide in the Greater Denver Metro league. She is a long time member of the Golf Advisory Committee to Aurora City Council and has participated in many CWGA and some USGA events.

When Laurie is not on the golf course with her friends, she likes to be on her bike, swim, or read.
