Defending champ Forey among plethora of top seeds to advance in CGA Super-Senior Match Play

The top eight seeds, including defending champion Sean Forey of The Club at Rolling Hills, won their first-round matches on Tuesday and will advance to the Sweet 16 at the CGA Super-Senior Match Play Championship at Legacy Ridge Golf Course in Westminster.

Forey defeated Mark Corrigan of Pelican Lakes Golf Club 6 and 5 to move on.

Other top seeds advancing — with their winning score — include No. 2 David Nelson of Columbine Country Club, winner of the 2020 CGA Super-Senior Amateur (7 and 6); three-time CGA Senior Player of the Year Robert Polk of Colorado Golf Club, the third seed (6 and 5); Colorado Golf Hall of Famer Kent Moore, the fourth seed (6 and 5); No. 5 Robin Bradbury of Omni Interlocken Resort (7 and 5); No. 6 Randy Miller of Boulder Country Club (concession); No. 7 Mark Udall of Coal Creek Golf Course (2 up); and No. 8 Dave Brown of University of Denver Golf Club at Highlands Ranch (2 and 1).

On Wednesday, both the round of 16 and the quarterfinals will be contested. Then on Thursday, it will be the semifinals and the final.

The Super-Senior Match Play is limited to players 64 and older.
