Lauren Lehigh of Loveland and former University of Colorado golfer Sabrina Iqbal were among the 100 golfers who advanced from LPGA Q-Series Pre-Qualifying to the second of three stages of the Q-school process.
Lehigh, a former quarterfinalist in the U.S. Women’s Amateur who turned pro this year after playing her college golf at the University of New Mexico, finished 22nd on Sunday out of the 327 players entered in the Pre-Qualifying tournament in Rancho Mirage, Calif. Iqbal, who played her final college season at CU, placed 80th.
The top 100 finishers will advance to the next stage, set for Oct. 15-18 in Venice, Fla. Then the final qualifying tournament will be held Dec. 5-9 in Mobile, Ala., where the top 25 finishers and ties will earn 2025 LPGA Tour cards. Epson Tour status is also determined through the Q-school process.
At Pre-Qualifying, Lehigh, a two-time Colorado girls state high school champion, posted scores of 68-71-71-72 of a 6-under-par total, which left her 10 strokes behind medalist — and amateur — Ashley Menne, a former Arizona State golfer.
Iqbal went 67-73-77-71 to check in at even par for four rounds.
Falling one stroke shy of of advancing was Leigha Devine of Windsor, a two-time CGA Women’s Player of the Year, who finished in 101st place at 2 over par (73-69-74-74). Ashley Kozlowki of Littleton, who like Devine competed in the tournament as an amateur, missed the 54-hole cut, ending up at 10 over par (74-72-80).
