U.S. Kids Golf, an organization devoted togrowing, promoting and enhancing golf among youth and families,” this week announced its 2020 “Top 50 Kids Coaches of the Year,” and one Colorado instructor earned a spot on the list.

Tara Morris of the Country Club at Castle Pines, who three months ago won the Colorado PGA Women’s Championship for the second time in three years, was among those recognized for their work teaching youngsters the game of golf.

Instructors from 26 states and seven countries earned coaching accolades from U.S. Kids Golf, which has presented the Top 50 Kids Coaches Awards since 2004.

Applicants complete an online survey, and winners are chosen by a selection committee based upon, among other things, “experience, innovation, creativity, communication, parental engagement, organization, devotion and growing the game.”

Morris has worked at the Country Club at Castle Pines since 2014 and became a full-time instructor in 2019. She played college golf at Wichita State and Tulsa, then competed on the Symetra Tour for five years.
