Acing the Test

Hole-in-one helps Coloradan Brady Duval score another notable junior victory

By Gary Baines – 1/29/2023

For the second time in the last two months, Brady Duval of Cherry Hills Village has recorded a victory in a notable junior golf tournament that attracted an international field.

And this time, the win included a hole-in-one.

Duval, son of 13-time PGA Tour winner David Duval, prevailed on Sunday at the International Junior Golf Tour’s Elite Series #1 event at Howey In The Hills, Fla.

In a 27-player boys field, Duval prevailed by four strokes and was one of just three golfers to finish under par for three rounds. The high school senior went 68-65-74 for a 9-under 207 total, which was four better than Ting-Wei Chang of Taiwan.

For the three rounds, Duval posted two eagles, 17 birdies, nine bogeys and a triple bogey. Both of the eagles came in round 2, including an ace on the third hole.

Duval’s other recent victory came in early December at the AJGA’s Amundi Evian Senior Showcase in Las Vegas.
