Bogey-free 64 Puts Jones two behind leader, davis Bryant, at CGA Amateur Championship

Connor Jones shot the low round of the day, 64, to get himself two shots behind tournament leader and Colorado State teammate, Davis Bryant.

Davis Bryant had large expectations to live up to on the second day of the 86th CGA Amateur Championship after shooting a new course record (60) at River Valley Ranch in Carbondale on Thursday. On Friday, Bryant posted a 2-under-par 70, maintaining his lead over the field by 2 strokes.

Davis Bryant leads the stacked field by two strokes after two days of play with two more days to go.

Colin Prater of Cherokee Ridge Golf Course, moved six spots up the leaderboard after firing a 6-under-par 66 on Friday. His only score of par or worse was a double bogey on the 4th hole.

After the Friday finish, the field was cut to 40 players. All players sitting at Even or better will play the weekend rounds and try and catch the leaders.
