Davis Bryant of Aurora, a former standout at Colorado State University who was the 2019 CGA Player of the Year, scored his first victory as a pro on Sunday.
Bryant closed with a 6-under-par 64 to win the Wyoming State Open by three strokes at Airport Golf Club in Cheyenne. The victory was worth $10,000.
“Incredibly pleased indeed,” Bryant said in a text. “I am super happy and pleased with my play this week and proud of the hard work I have been doing the last couple of months. I feel like I have been knocking on the door the past couple of months and to have my first victory near home is very special. Having my family there to support me made it much more special, since they haven’t been able to watch many of my pro golf tournaments thus far.”
The two-time Southwestern Amateur champion went 64-62-64 in Wyoming, making two eagles, 18 birdies and two bogeys for the tournament. In Sunday’s final round, Bryant carded an eagle on the second hole to go along with five birdies and a bogey.
The Coloradan ended up three strokes ahead of runner-up Peyton Shore of Saluda, S.C., who finished with a final-round 68.
Jake Chesler of Firestone, a Fort Lewis College golfer, and Klinton Krieger of Cheyenne (both 67-68-65) tied for low-amateur honors at 10 under par.
Leading the senior professional division was Scott Foster of Gold Canyon, Ariz. (69-69-67), who finished four ahead of Scott Petersen of Parker (73-68-68).

Denver Native Wyndham Clark Closes Strong for Top-10 in Scotland: Wyndham Clark has developed a welcome ability to go low — score-wise — at PGA Tour events.
The Denver native demonstrated that again on Sunday when he shot an 8-under-par 62 — including a 6-under 29 on the back nine — to tie for 10th in the PGA Tour’s Genesis Scottish Open.
It marked Clark’s sixth top-10 finish this year and second in a row. For his entire PGA Tour career, he’s recorded 23 top-10s, including three victories.
Sunday’s 62 was Clark’s fifth official PGA Tour score of 64 or lower in 2024. He had a 63 in the final round of The Sentry, a 64 in round 2 at the American Express, a course-record 60 in the third and final round to win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a 63 in the last round at Travelers and a 62 in the final round of the Scottish.
The Valor Christian grad ended up at 13 under par overall in the Scottish Open, five strokes behind winner Robert MacIntyre.
