DU’s Jackson Solem makes run at individual title in San Diego college tourney, then ties for third; CSU places fifth as team
Paige Spiranac, who has since become a social media sensation, earned the title in the 100th CWGA Match Play, held in 2015 at Raccoon Creek Golf Course. In the 36-hole final, Spiranac defeated University of Colorado golfer Brittany Fan, who had beaten defending champion Jennifer Kupcho in the semifinals, 1 up.
During the 1965-66 school year, Hale Irwin lived in the Boulder-based Phi Gamma Delta fraternity house, which not long thereafter was purchased and became the Evans Scholarship house for caddies at CU.
