Familiar Territory

Day two of the 37th CGA Mid-Amateur Championship saw defending champion Collin Prater of Cherokee Ridge Golf Course leap up nine spots after ending the day with a score of 5-under-par 67. Prater entered the second round in a four-way tie for tenth but is now alone atop the leaderboard at a total gross of 4-under-par 144.

CommonGround Golf Course’s Anthony Syrko is right in Prater’s rearview mirror having shot 2-under-par 70. His total gross of 3-under-par 141 bumped him up to second, four places better than the previous day.

Bryan Rusin of City Park dropped down a spot from second place after shooting even par. Rusin is currently at a total gross of 2-under-par 142 heading into the final day.

Pinery Country Club’s Ryan Plummer, who entered day two at the peak of the leaderboard, ended the day 4-over-par 76. Plummer now finds himself in a four-way tie for tenth place with a current total gross of 1-over-par 145.

Day two at Haymaker Golf Course in Steamboat Springs was marked by strong gusts of wind, adding further challenges to the Mid-Am experience.

Entering the final day, the field is cut to 40 players and ties. Play continues Sunday with tee times beginning at 10 a.m.
