Another stellar venue set to host Colorado Golf Hall of Fame Tournament as Cherry Creek Country Club will do the honors on May 19; proceeds from the event will benefit the Hall of Fame and its new museum at The Broadmoor

By Gary Baines – 3/20/2025

The Colorado Golf Hall of Fame Tournament has a history of being played at some of the most notable courses in the Centennial State. Just in the last decade, host sites have included Sanctuary, Denver Country Club, Colorado Golf Club, Columbine Country Club, The Broadmoor and The Club at Ravenna.

That’s a strong lineup — which presented not only opportunities to tee it up at some of the best golf courses Colorado has to offer, but to simultaneously support the Hall of Fame, which has been honoring the top people in golf in the Centennial State for 52 years. And just two years ago, a stellar Colorado Golf Hall of Fame Museum opened at The Broadmoor, which this year will be the site of the U.S. Senior Open in late June.

This year, the Hall of Fame Tournament will be conducted at another outstanding venue as Cherry Creek Country Club in Denver will host the proceedings on May 19. Registration recently opened for the event at the Jack Nicklaus/Jack Nicklaus II-designed facility, which has hosted Colorado PGA Professional Championships. The entry fee is $450 per person or $1,800 for a foursome, which includes golf with a cart, a gift package, breakfast, tournament contest prizes, beverage tickets, team awards and food following play. The format will be a two net best ball per foursome. Registration runs until May 2.

Breakfast and registration will begin at 8 a.m. on May 19, with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.

In conjunction with the tournament, an auction will be held that will likewise benefit the Hall of Fame and its museum. It’s set to run May 1-19. Items up for bidding will include playing opportunities at Sanctuary, The Broadmoor, The Club at Cordillera and many other courses, along with tickets to University of Colorado football games and Colorado Rockies contests. The Colorado Golf Hall of Fame inducted its first class in 1973, with the honorees that year being Babe Zaharias, Dave Hill and Babe Lind. After five people are enshrined later this year — Tom Apple, Rollie Cahalane, Jon Lindstrom, Lance Johnson and Robert Polk — 159 people will be in the Hall of Fame.
