Kent and Steven Moore Take First Step Toward Second Parent-Child Win

Kent and Steven Moore of Cherry Hills Country Club and CommonGround Golf Course respectively, shot an opening round of five-under-par 67 at Gypsum Creek Golf Course to take a two-shot lead going into tomorrow’s second and final round of the CGA Parent-Child Championship. Kent and Steven, who finished as runners-up last year, made seven birdies and two bogeys in the Modified Chapman Format, to lead defending champions Robert and Ryan Burke, and the Colorado Springs team of Bruce and Tyler Hogg, both of whom carded three-under-par 69s. The team of Jeff and Luke Landskov of Westwoods Golf Course shot a one-over-par 73 to lead the way for the Loel and Caleb Lierman Medal which is awarded to the team with the lowest gross score that features a player 18 years old or younger.

The Moore duo are no strangers to the Parent-Child. When asked how many times they have played together, Kent said, “Wow!  At least 10.  So fun!”  The highlight was their win in 2009 when the event was held at the now-abandoned Cougar Canyon Golf Links in Trinidad.
