With runner-up finish, Coloradan Becca Huffer moves into 10th on Epson Tour money list; top 10 at season end will earn LPGA cards

The Epson Tour season will wrap up in a couple of months, and when it does, it’s possible that as many as three golfers with strong Colorado connections could be earning their LPGA Tour cards for 2024.
The top 10 finishers on the 2023 season-long Epson Tour money list will receive promotions to the LPGA Tour, and three “locals” are in contention for 2024 cards: former University of Colorado golfer Jenny Coleman, Becca Huffer of Monument, and former Buff Robyn Choi.
Huffer tied her career best on the Epson circuit this weekend by sharing second place in the Four Winds Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
Huffer, a two-time Inspirato Colorado Women’s Open champion who placed second in the 2023 CWO, went 69-68-70 for a 9-under-par 207 total in Indiana, which left the 33-year-old three strokes behind winner Gabriela Ruffels. The Coloradan earned $16,020.
Also placing in the top 10 was Choi (eighth, 73-67-70). Fellow former Buff Coleman (71-75-68) was 26th.
With that, Huffer moved into the top 10 on the 2023 Epson money list, sitting 10th at $64,721. An LPGA Tour card holder in 2019, she owns three top-four finishes this season. Coleman is eighth in 2023 money ($67,472) and Choi 16th ($48,994).
Seven tournaments remain on the Epson Tour in 2024, culminating with the Epson Tour Championship Oct, 5-8.

Elsewhere in major tour golf for players with strong Colorado ties:
— Despite finishing 66th out of 70 players at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis, Denver native Wyndham Clark (70-76-70-68) remained in the top-10 in the season-long FedExCup point standings.
After being fifth in points going into the playoffs, the U.S. Open champ is projected to be eighth among the 50 players advancing to BMW Championship, which starts Thursday in the Chicago area. In other words, Clark is still in very good shape to make it to the Tour Championship for the first time in his career. The top 30 players after the BMW will go to the Tour Championship in Atlanta Aug. 24-27.
Meanwhile, Colorado native Mark Hubbard failed to advance to the BMW Championship and saw his 2022-23 PGA Tour season end in Memphis. He tied Clark in 66th place (69-72-71-72). Hubbard is projected to finish 67th in the FedExCup standings.
