CGA moves Parent/Child Championship to September; 2020 Pacific Coast Amateur canceled

For the third time this year, the CGA has postponed one of its May championships for coronavirus-related reasons, this time due to local health directives.
The CGA Parent/Child Championship, originally scheduled for May 30-31 at Eagle Ranch Golf Club in Eagle, has been moved to Sept. 26-27 and remain at the same course. Because of the date change, the field will be limited to 48 teams, down from the original 60.
An Eagle County public health order has limited travel into and around the county to local residents only — those who own, maintain or live in a home or residence in the county. In addition, with few exceptions, short-term lodging units must be remain vacated through May 31.
Earlier this spring, the CGA moved its Four-Ball Championship to Aug. 28-30 (Legacy Ridge Golf Course in Westminster) and the Super-Senior Match Play to Sept. 22-24 (Indian Peaks Golf Course in Lafayette).
The first CGA championship of 2020 will be the Senior Four-Ball, set for May 26-28 at Thorncreek Golf Course in Thornton.

In another coronavirus-related change that will affect some Colorado amateurs:
2020 Pacific Coast Amateur Canceled: Colorado sends a team of three top golfers each year to the prestigious Pacific Coast Amateur, but the 54th edition of the tournament won’t be held in 2020.
Officials from the Pac Coast have canceled this year’s event, originally scheduled for July 21-24 in Victoria, British Columbia. (Updated May 11) Royal Colwood Golf Club in Victoria, which had been the 2020 site, will now host the Pac Coast Am in 2021.
Last year, 57-year-old Greg Condon of Monte Vista, the oldest player in the field, finished 15th in the Pacific Coast Amateur held in Albuquerque. The three-man representing the CGA — Ross Macdonald of Castle Rock, Ryan Burke of Longmont and Jared Reid of Denver — finished 12th out of 15 squads in the 36-hole Morse Cup team competition.
