Former Air Force Academy golfer Kyle Westmoreland notches 2nd straight top-5 finish to start season on Korn Ferry Tour

The 2024 Korn Ferry Tour season is only two weeks old, but a couple of prominent players from Colorado-based college golf programs have already made quite a showing on the circuit.
Last week, former University of Colorado golfer Jeremy Paul recorded his first victory on the KFT, prevailing at the season-opening Bahamas Great Exuma Classic. Meanwhile, Air Force Academy graduate Kyle Westmoreland matched his career-best KFT finish with a fifth-place showing.
Then on Wednesday, also in the Bahamas, Westmoreland set a new personal standard for himself on the Korn Ferry Tour by tying for second in the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic.
It wasn’t the finish Westmoreland was seeking after taking a two-stroke lead into Wednesday, but back-to-back top-five finishes aren’t too shabby.
Westmoreland, who played at the Academy from 2010-14 and last season became the first AFA grad to own a PGA Tour card, birdied three of his last four holes after he went 3 over for his first 14 holes of the final round. That left him two strokes back of 19-year-old champion Aldrich Potgieter.
Westmoreland went 66-74-68-72 for an 8-under-par total. The showing earned him $75,000.
