After just falling out of the top 10 in the world rankings, Colorado Golf Hall of Famer Wyndham Clark responds with best PGA Tour finish in 11 months

For a guy who barely made the 36-hole cut, Wyndham Clark certainly posted a mighty impressive finish on Sunday at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.
The Colorado Golf Hall of Famer went 64-64 on the weekend to vault up the leaderboard and tie for fifth place in his final PGA Tour start before the Masters.
For Clark, winner of three PGA Tour events in his career, it was his best Tour showing since finishing third at the RBC Heritage last April.
The Denver native went 69-68-64-64 to post a 15-under-par total, which left him five strokes behind winner Min Woo Lee, a TGL teammate of Clark.
Asked about his confidence level heading into his second Masters, which starts on April 10, Clark said, “It’s definitely better than what it was coming into this event. The confidence is growing, which is great. I’m just happy, I feel like my game’s in a solid spot and now it’s just about executing and getting the ball in the hole.”
Clark had just fallen out of the top 10 (to 11th) in the World Golf Rankings for the first time since August 2023. But the performance at the Houston Open moved him up to the No. 10 spot.
In Houston, after making the cut on the number, the Denver native carded 13 birdies and one bogey on the weekend to soar up the scoreboard. It certainly didn’t hurt that his putter heated up considerably as he ranked fourth in strokes gained putting on both Saturday and Sunday.
The showing at the Houston Open was worth $337,844 to Clark
