Jon Lindstrom of Denver continues to make his mark as a senior golfer nationally and internationally, in addition to locally.
Lindstrom, who recently won the CGA Senior Match Play title, tied for ninth place on Friday in the British Senior Amateur, one of the top senior amateur tournaments in the world.
The 55-year-old, a three-time winner of the CGA Mid-Amateur, ended up at 1 over par for four rounds at Woodhall Spa in England. The Lakewood Country Club member went 71-75-70-76 and finished nine strokes behind champion Brent Paterson of New Zealand and four out of second place.
The showing is generally in keeping with Lindstrom’s world ranking for his age group. Currently, he sits fourth in the World Amateur Golf Rankings among male players 55 and older. In the last year, he’s won the Trans-Miss Senior Championship, the Heron Creek National Senior Invitational and the International Senior Individual Championship, in addition to capturing low-amateur honors for the fourth time in the Inspirato Colorado Senior Open.
