Former Colorado School of Mines player George Markham joins locals Jackson Solem, Chris Korte with conditional status on PGA Tour Canada

Former Colorado School of Mines golfer George Markham just missed earning exempt status on PGA Tour Canada, and he’ll be conditional heading into the Canadian season, which begins on June 15.
The left hander will join former University of Denver players Jackson Solem and Chris Korte as golfers with conditional status in Canada this year.
Markham tied for eighth place on Friday — out of 130 players — in the fifth of six PGA Tour Canada qualifying tournaments, this one in San Jacinto, Calif. Finishers in the second through 10th range landed exempt status for roughly the first half of the season. But since that doesn’t include ties, there was a five-way playoff for the final three spots, and Markham was one of the odd men out when he lipped out his birdie attempt on the second extra hole.
The finishers in the 11th through 30th place, plus ties, earned conditional status.
Markham went 71-69-72-68 for an 8-under-par 280 total, which left him seven strokes back of medalist Charlie Reiter. Markham, who attended Mines from 2015-19, went bogey-free on Friday.
