With 2 Hawaiian players leading the way, CSU women get first team victory of season, near Honolulu

The Colorado State University women’s golf squad went a long way to notch its first team victory since March.

The Rams, coming off a three-victory season in 2023-24, closed out the fall portion of their 2024-25 schedule in style by winning the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Kapolei, Hawaii.
In fact, CSU swept the team and individual titles as senior Lacey Uchida — appropriately competing in her home state, though not her home island — claimed the championship out of a field of 92. She went 64-71-69 for a 12-under-par total and a two-shot victory. Uchida, who hails from the Big Island, carded 17 birdies over the three rounds.
Another CSU player from Hawaii, sophomore Kara Kaneshiro from nearby Honolulu, also notched a top-5 finish, tying for fourth (69-72-69).
As a team, CSU posted an 11-under-par total in the final round and checked in at 23 under overall, three better than Kansas State.
The Rams now will have their mid-season break, returning to action Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at the Collegiate Invitational in Guadalajara, Mexico.
